In August of 2009, we had a large backyard landscaping project completed by Lewis Landscaping Services, and we were very impressed by the owner, Jim Lewis, and his hard working, knowledgeable, and friendly employees.

Jim Lewis gave us a preliminary bid for our job the same evening that he initially came out to meet us, and his preliminary bid included specifics such as price, a date his crew could begin work, how many days our project would take them, and the fact that they require a 50% down payment and the remainder upon completion.  Lewis' preliminary bid was followed by a formal contract within days, which we signed and returned with a check.

Long story short, Lewis' crew began work on schedule and worked full days.

At the end of each day you could see how much progress they were making. They finished the work exactly on schedule, and did a beautiful, professional job.

We would not hesitate to recommend Lewis Landscaping Services for any landscaping project you might have, or for your weekly/monthly or annual yard maintenance.

Love the compliments we get

Lewis' team reinvented our front yard. We had them install a water feature, rock wall, new lawn, replace the old sprinkler system, and new plants and trees. Our old yard was pretty plain and boring . And it did a good job of hiding the house. The week that the work was being done, we were all the buzz in the neighborhood. All of our neighbors were out watching the transformation take place. It was really quite amazing how quickly the transformation began to take place. Of course, we got lots of compliments. But the best compliment to me came from some kids riding their bikes who had been by our house hundreds of times before. But this time, they stepped on the breaks and one of them said, "Whoa!!! Somebody won the lottery!" To me, that was the most fulfilling thing of the entire experience. Our house isn't anywhere near a million dollars. But I felt like it was at that time. And everyone still tells us we have the best landscape on the block. I've heard realtors say landscaping doesn't help home values. But in my opinion, it was the best investment we ever made to our property.

I don't know. Maybe lots of other landscapers would have done a great job too. I had never hired anyone for a landscape project of this size before. But I will tell you this, those guys did a great job. It's been 3 years now since they transformed our front yard and they still maintain the place every week and keep it looking top notch. I have been very pleased with the work they do. And I am happy to refer this company.

Best experience we have had with hiring a landscape contractor to date. Came when they said they would, did what they said they would do and for the price they quoted. If only every landscaping company in Portland operated that way. This is one of the good ones. We were impressed with the work they did for us. We are still getting used to the conditions in the Portland area and the drainage challenges we all have. They came in and fixed the problem we had with our lawn and landscape and also offered some other suggestions to improve our landscape too. We've enjoyed their services and plan to have them back this year for more work.

Jim Lewis was prompt, professional, and incredibly efficient - both during the quoting process and in performance of the job. My backyard has never looked better. I'd use this contractor again for any future landscaping work. In fact, we are considering rebuilding our raised bed - replace the railroad tie retaining wall with stacked rocks. I had a 10 zone Rainbird irrigation system installed last year. I also have used them for occasional clean-ups and weekly maintenance. I have been really impressed with the owner, Jim Lewis, as well as his employees...no trash left, no cigarette butts, etc. No problems. Many landscapers can be flaky in my experience. They often miss their regularly scheduled days or just don't show up for weeks only to find out they went out of business or left town. It's hard to find an affordable yet reliable landscaper. I have not had any of these issues since working with Jim and his crew. They are always there when they are suppose to be and the work is always done better than I would have expected. I would highly recommend them for any project. They may not be the cheapest in town but they very reasonable - and worth every penny in my opinion.

We have been using Lewis Landscape Services to maintain our yard for the past year and a half. We've had different companies maintain our yard over the years, but none have matched the efficient and meticulous service--or the value, for that matter--that Jim and his employees have given us.

Any company can mow, edge and clean up, but Jim and his people went out of their way by helping us decide how to shape and tidy our yard. For example, we had an area at the side of the house that was unattractive and creating mud problems due to runoff. Jim's solution was to put down stepping stones surrounded by small gravel. It solved the problem inexpensively and gave us an attractive walkway to boot.

Their professionalism has made our yard prettier, the shrubs and trees more manageable, and made our yard a more pleasant place to live and play.

If you're not using them, you should be.

I am a landscape designer in the Portland Metro area who doesn't have a contractor's license to implement what I design for my clients. I therefore refer quite a bit of business out to local contractors. Most referrals, by far, go to Lewis Landscape in Beaverton. They do an amazing job and are punctual, professional, and most importantly, they complete high quality work for my clients. I recommend them over and over and have never had any dissatisfied clients. The largest project they have done for me was quite entailed with constructing a unique water feature/ pond, sun dial garden, pathways and a patio complete with surrounding paver walls. We hired Lewis Landscape Services to install a Paver patio and surrounding landscaping home in Portland, Oregon. We had them install a paver patio, small rock bubbler water feature, and an irrigation system. We did not get other bids from any other landscapers because we had seen their work next door but we felt the prices were on par with the quality of work. The landscaping work was done with quality and on time. I must say their workers are the most industrious and nicest guys we have ever had work on our property for anything. We can't wait to go out this weekend and enjoy our new back yard!

Jim gave us a bid for our yard that was in desperate need of clean up. We requested a one time clean up, but he suggested that if we were interested in becoming clients, he would get his crew to work on it over the following weeks to get it back in to shape. His crew comes out weekly and leaves a report on our door, describing what they did that week.

We've been really pleased with the service. His crew has been punctual and I've expected we'd receive a call one day, saying they would have to reschedule, but that hasn't happened. Jim's team has exceeded our expectations.

The men from Lewis Landscape Service were by far the most polite, professional and courteous people I have dealt with in a long time. We were just very impressed with Jim and his company from the first time we called. They showed up when they said they would, gave us a thorough bid and a list of references, did an amazing job, and cleaned the place up well when they were finished.

Prices were in line with what others were charging, maybe slightly more. But having used them, I would definitely pay that little more all over again.

We had them install a sprinkler system and a paver patio. The paver patio is beautiful and the sprinkler system seems to work great too.

Can't say enough good about these guys. All contractors should be this professional.
